NFPA 25 requires annual inspections of the following:

Wet Fire Sprinkler Systems -

accompanied by tamper switches and water flow devices

Dry Fire Sprinkler Systems -

(partial trip test) accompanied by pressure switches & air compressor (every third year a full trip test is required)

Pre-action Fire Sprinkler Systems -

electronics need to be inspected (every fifth year all gauges are to be re-calibrated or replaced)

Fire Sprinkler System Back Flow Preventers -

located at the sprinkler riser (anywhere from 2" - 10" typically)

Domestic Back Flow Preventers -

not tied to fire sprinkler system (usually 1" - 3")
